The RP team is collaborating with the communities of San Antonio and Calabaza to formulate a project involving sustainable agriculture to submit to a public contest sponsored by the state for the buffer zones (ZA) of the Bosque de Protección Pui Pui. In addition, on October 26 we will have a tri-party agreement approved by UNCP (la Universidad Nacional del Centro del Perú) and will begin to plan and coordinate the activities presented by UNCP to take place on the conservation concession for next year. Norma, the project coordinator, will participate in the “Formation for Facilitators: Training Processes for Rural Sustainable Development” workshop that is organized by the RAAA (Alternative Agriculture Action Net). The goal for the workshop is to improve our work with the communities and the execution of our projects. The design for the hostel is being completed by Architects without Borders and Norma is lining up a contractor to review and approve the plans so that construction can commence.
