This weekend, world leaders are gathered in Bonn, Germany at the first UN climate change meeting since Copenhagen, to discuss how best to continue on the path towards a new climate change treaty. One of the expected outcomes of this brief conference is to solidify the number and type of extra meetings that will lead up to the Conference of the Parties 16 (COP16) in Cancún, Mexico in late 2010. Tensions are already high, as there exist many differing opinions on how best to move forward. We’ll keep you updated on the outcomes of this conference and the development of the REDD mechanism in the months leading up to Cancún.
