The Expedition team left Chazuta, Peru, yesterday morning in their canoe and are currently headed down Rio Huallaga towards Iquitos, Peru, where the Amazon River begins.
We spoke with Joseph and Tim one more time before they left on Sunday evening at Opal Divine’s. The team was definitely excited and ready to get on with the journey! Utilizing a SPOT Tracker, the Team will be sending us their coordinates every few days so that we know what part of the river they are on. Check out the link to the map, which shows their coordinates as of this morning (9/30/09): Trans-Amazon Expedition Location – 9/30/09. They will upload pictures and journal entries as often as possible as well.
At their next destination (with Internet) we will have another live Skype chat with the guys so that they can update us on the adventure and any interested parties can ask questions and make comments. We will keep you posted!
