Highlights of current and future projects:

  • Our current projects focus on identifying and developing markets for new ecotourism destinations, artisan products and non-timber forest products.
  • All projects supported by in-country local RP team members and partners
  • Four projects in two countries in three years
    Chipaota, Peru
  • Preserved 9,000 acres of rainforest in Peru
  • Created a community-owned business for 40 families
  • Forest threat was illegal and unsustainable harvesting techniques
    Sani Isla, Ecuador and Chipaota, Peru
  • Helped 40 women create a sustainable income source in Ecuador and Peru from non-timber forest materials
  • Creating a project model with Ecuadorian partner to make these projects scalable and replicable
    Pampa Hermosa, Peru
  • Creating infrastructure for ecotourism in a highly biodiverse cloudforest.  Two hostels already created, Ecolodge being built in 2011.
  • Forest Threat was slash and burn agriculture and cattle ranching
