During the transformative Summer 2020 experience in the Strategic Impact Cohort, a program of the Keep Families Giving Foundation, CEO Niyanta Spelman and CSO Beth Caplan identified a gap in our engagement programs: one that would welcome and activate the next generation community of givers. As an organization powered by a high percentage of Next Gens, Rainforest Partnership eagerly embraced the opportunity to craft this new and meaningful gateway into impact for forests.

RP and our partner NGO, Amigos de Sian Ka’an (ASK), will begin our first joint project, which will focus on establishing the Pez Maya biological station as a hub for ecological research, conservation programs, ecotourism, and community building through environmental education.
ASK has a similarly complex and socially conscious approach to conserving the many incredible ecosystems within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, which include the tropical forests, the best-preserved mangrove forests in Mesoamerica, coral reefs, underground rivers, dunes, and coastlands.

After learning about Films for the Forest in 2020, SOW offered to become Films for the Forest’s first Event Partner to fulfill its ambition of bringing films focused on the conservation and protection of vulnerable forests to audiences in Wales, the United Kingdom, and beyond. By partnering with RP, and leveraging F3’s established status and reach, SOW seeks to spend its valuable resources on impact rather than create a new initiative.

Absolutely integral to our impact are our community partnerships. The vast wealth of traditional knowledge, social institutional strategy, labor, and time that communities we work with share with RP are the key mechanism that enable our joint work to create higher impact at lower cost.
Invest in results and see the outsized impact of their monetary support in action, throughout the process. By sponsoring a particular project or aspect of RP’s work, Impact Partners ensure that their contributions translate directly into impact in their area of interest.
Are centered around commerce. Together, we carve out pockets of the private sector that work to benefit communities and support rainforest protection. These mutually beneficial relationships translate entrepreneurship into conservation action and everyone benefits.
