If you’re looking for meaningful things to do in Austin on May 1, Films for the Forest is bringing an unforgettable environmental film event to The Rosette—and you’re invited.
This year’s event is especially exciting as we celebrate the renewal of our partnership with Reserva: The Youth Land Trust, a global youth-led conservation organization working to protect biodiversity and empower the next generation of environmental leaders.
Together, we’re combining the power of storytelling and youth action to inspire real-world impact—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
A Unique Environmental Film Event in Austin
Films for the Forest is an annual, juried short film series that highlights the beauty, urgency, and importance of forests around the world. Since its launch in 2010 by Rainforest Partnership, the initiative has showcased powerful stories from global filmmakers—stories that connect audiences to ecosystems, communities, and solutions.
At this special Austin screening on May 1, you’ll experience a curated selection of inspiring short films that explore:
- Forest conservation and biodiversity
- Indigenous and local community perspectives
- Environmental challenges and climate solutions
- Hopeful pathways toward restoration
This isn’t just a film screening—it’s an opportunity to connect, reflect, and take action.
Celebrating a Global Youth Conservation Partnership
We’re proud to announce that our partnership with Reserva: The Youth Land Trust—first launched in 2021—has officially been renewed for another three years.
Reserva is redefining what youth leadership looks like in conservation. Co-founded by Youth Director Bella Lack at just 19, the organization has built a global network of more than 80 young environmental leaders from cities like Quito, Lahore, London, and Washington, D.C.
Their mission is simple but powerful: to empower young people to protect threatened species and habitats through conservation, education, and storytelling.
And that’s exactly why this partnership matters.
Films for the Forest amplifies stories. Reserva empowers the storytellers and changemakers behind them. Together, we’re helping ensure that the future of conservation is inclusive, global, and youth-driven.
As Reserva member Lorena Patrício Silva (19, Brazil) shares:
“Becoming a member of Reserva was something truly important in my life because it allowed me to work in collaboration with other passionate young conservationists from around the globe and to see our efforts having a real impact for the protection of the environment.”
