As we step into a new year, I wanted to write directly and personally—with gratitude and renewed hope.
Rainforest Partnership was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that protecting the world’s rainforests is inseparable from protecting life on Earth.
From the very beginning, our mission has been rooted in partnership—listening to Indigenous communities, supporting locally led solutions, and helping amplify the voices of those safeguarding our planet’s most vital ecosystems.
This past year has been a difficult one for me personally, and for Rainforest Partnership. It has been a period of loss, transition, and deep reflection. For me personally, it has been the devastating, unfathomable loss of my husband.
As it often is, the personal and the professional intertwine and somehow mirror. During this time, our communication has been quieter than it should have been, and I want to sincerely thank you for your patience and continued belief in the importance of our work.
What has not changed is my personal commitment nor the heart of Rainforest Partnership—or the impact on the ground, including during this period, something I am very proud of.
The work continues, and it is meaningful. We are now in a season of renewal.
Rainforest Partnership will endure, and grow with intention and integrity.
We have been rebuilding our foundation—stabilizing operations, restructuring governance, and putting systems in place that will allow Rainforest Partnership to endure and to grow with intention and integrity.
This work has also strengthened our leadership capacity, allowing me to focus more fully on vision, relationships, and global partnerships while ensuring the organization’s day-to-day operations are supported with renewed rigor. I look forward to sharing more on this front.
This year is about strength, clarity, and readiness. With a focused marketing and communications plan underway, we are preparing to re-engage the world more fully and more boldly. There is also exciting momentum ahead.
This spring, we will be sharing important announcements and new initiatives—including the continued evolution of World Rainforest Day and Films for the Forest—programs borne from Rainforest Partnership’s long-standing commitment to making the rainforest impossible to ignore.
At a time when the planet needs steady, credible voices more than ever, Rainforest Partnership is uniquely positioned to help lead—bridging grassroots action with global impact, and grounding urgency in hope.
